Accommodation

We know that a good night’s sleep is important, especially when you’re traveling with lots of fun activities during the day.  We choose hostels and backpacker properties for their budget value as well as offering great facilities while always providing a warm, friendly atmosphere.

Moose Travel Network choose to stay in the best hostels Western Canada has to offer, and only use accommodation that meets our quality standards. By staying in shared rooms you get a chance to meet more people, hang out with other tour guests and keep the price as low as possible. The hostel staff are often travelers too and they’re great for helping plan your time in each destination, and can give you great local recommendations on where to eat, play and party!

Moose books your accommodation for each night of the tour so all you need to worry about is having fun! Moose reserves a single bed per passenger every night in mixed gender hostel dorm rooms.  You simply pay for your bed when you arrive at the hostel or you can purchase the optional Accommodation Package.

You must only make your own reservation if:

a) you would like to stay in a private room,

b) you choose to stay in a different hostel/hotel,

c) for your pre and post tour nights in Vancouver and/or Banff.

NOTE: Do not purchase the optional Accommodation Package if you want to stay in a private room or alternative property on any or multiple nights of the tour.

**HI Rampart Creek is a rustic, wilderness hostel with no running water, and solar & propane generated power. It features a cozy fireplace, outdoor fire pit, and a wood-burning sauna! Please note there are no alternative accommodation options nearby, but we think you’re going to love this truly Canadian experience! Moose groups will stay at HI Athabasca Falls (also a rustic, wilderness hostel), instead of HI Rampart Creek, on the following dates: 04-May-2019, 18-May-2019, 01-Jun-2019

Pre-Paid Accommodation Packages

Make life on the tour as simple as possible by choosing the pre-paid accommodation package. By purchasing this option you will pre-pay for all your accommodation while on tour. This means you can sit back and not have to worry about any details while enjoying this epic journey.

These packages cover your accommodation costs for the standard nights of the trip, in mixed gender dorm beds, so you’re already paid up when you check in! You’ll still have to book and pay for your own accommodation both before and after your trip. If you decide to jump off the bus in our hub locations, you’ll need to book and pay for those extra nights yourself.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not purchase an Accommodation Package if you want to stay in a private room or alternative accommodation on any night (or multiple nights) of your tour! We do not offer an accommodation upgrade service, nor we do not offer partial refunds of any unused dorm bed nights. In these cases, book the standard package without accommodation, and then book your own accommodation wherever you wish to stay in a private room. You can still use our pre-reserved dorm beds anywhere you wish, but will pay direct to the hostel upon arrival.

HI Athabasca Falls is a wilderness lodge - there is limited electricity, and water is hand pumped from a well! The best part is that you are in a rustic setting with nightly campfires and can watch the stars come out above the dense forest.

HI Rampart Creek is a wilderness lodge meaning there is limited electricity and no running water (but purified water is available)!  The best part is that you are in a rustic setting with a sauna, hiking right from the property, and nightly campfires where you can watch the stars come out above the dense forest.
