5 days/4 nights | Flexi-Pass | Departing Vancouver

  • Explore Western Canada's wilderness stopping at stunning viewpoints along the way, and for hiking and swimming
  • Tour through Banff and Jasper National Parks
  • Visit Rocky Mountain landmarks such as Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, and Moraine Lake (seasonal)
  • Travel the Icefields Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper to see Bow Lake and the Athabasca Glacier
  • See majestic waterfalls including Bridal Veil Falls and Athabasca Falls
  • Paddleboard on a lake in the Okanagan Valley (included)
  • Enjoy the wicked nightlife and adventure activities in Banff
  • Travel through Canada's desert region and party on Lake Okanagan

Leaving the city behind, we’ll head east through the Fraser Valley. At our first stop, we’ll take a short walk in a west coast rainforest to check out Bridal Veil Falls before stopping for lunch in the quaint town of Hope. After crossing through the Coastal Mountains, we arrive in the semi-arid grasslands of the Okanagan where we’ll go for a paddleboard on Skaha Lake in Penticton. Then it’s onto Kelowna on Lake Okanagan, our destination for the night.

  • Activity & Meal Inclusions: Paddleboarding, Dinner
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: Samesun Kelowna
  • We’ll be in two provinces, completely cross three mountain ranges, and travel through four National Parks today as we continue east to Banff. Leaving the Okanagan, we’ll stop en route in Revelstoke, where you’ll have the option to go lake kayaking in beautiful, hand crafted wooden boats. Continuing onwards, we’ll finally enter the Rocky Mountains and cross over the Kicking Horse Pass into Alberta and Banff National Park. Tonight, we’ll settle in the historic town of Banff, in the heart of the mountains.

  • Meal Inclusions: Breakfast at Samesun Kelowna
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Banff
  • Our day begins with an energizing hike at Johnston Canyon, before visits to the stunning Moraine Lake (seasonal), and one of the world’s most famous lakes, Lake Louise! Then it’s onto the Icefields Parkway, to take in the jagged mountain peaks, glaciers, raging rivers, and more turquoise lakes, all the while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. We’ll make stops to see the Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, and the impressive Mistaya Canyon, before arriving at our rustic, wilderness hostel alongside Rampart Creek. Why not take a dip in the creek, then relax in the wood-burning sauna, before enjoying a campfire under the stars tonight?

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Rampart Creek. This is a rustic, wilderness hostel and there are no alternative accommodation options nearby, but we think you’re going to love this truly Canadian experience!
  • Tick another National Park off your list today because we’re entering Jasper NP! We’ll stop to look for mountain goats at the Goats and Glaciers Viewpoint. Our next stop is at Athabasca Falls, one of the most powerful and picturesque waterfalls in the Rockies. Then it’s on to Maligne Canyon, the deepest canyon in Jasper, for a scenic hike that crosses several bridges with amazing views into the canyon. Afterwards, we’ll roll into the Jasper townsite where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to explore on your own.

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: New HI Jasper
  • It’s another day of jaw dropping vistas along the Icefields Parkway as we make our way back south. Our main attraction today is the Columbia Icefield, the largest icefield in the Rocky Mountains at 325 square kilometres. You’ll have the chance to get up close to the Athabasca Glacier, to enjoy the views from the glass-bottomed Glacier Skywalk, or to learn more about glaciation at the Discovery Centre. Our tour ends after a group dinner back in Banff.

  • Meal Inclusions: Dinner at Samesun Banff
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: None. You will need to make your own reservations for tonight. We recommend booking at the Samesun Banff where your fellow travellers doing a longer pass will be staying.

We know that a good night’s sleep is important, especially after a busy day of travelling with lots of fun activities. We choose hostels and backpacker properties that offer budget value, as well as great facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere.

As part of our included service, we pre-book your accommodation so all you need to worry about is having fun! We reserve single beds in mixed gender hostel dorm rooms for every passenger, on every night of the tour. By staying in shared rooms you get a chance to meet more people, hang out with other Moose travellers, and pay less than you would booking a private room or hotel.

How To Pay For Your Accommodation

You simply pay for your pre-reserved Moose bed when you arrive at the hostel. Dorm bed prices range from CAD$29 to $75 plus tax. Alternatively, you can purchase our optional Pre-Paid Accommodation Package.

    Pre-Paid Accommodation Package

To make life on your Moose tour as simple as possible, we recommend purchasing our Pre-Paid Accommodation Package. The package covers your accommodation costs for the standard nights of the trip, in mixed gender dorm beds, so you’re already paid up when you check in. This means you’ll be in your room faster, and therefore have more time to enjoy your epic adventure! Important Note: do not purchase the Accommodation Package if you wish to stay in private rooms or alternative accommodation on any night (or multiple nights) of the tour. We do not offer an accommodation upgrade service, nor we do we offer partial refunds of any unused dorm bed nights.

Do I Ever Need To Book My Own Accommodation?

If you’ve booked our Pre-Paid Accommodation Package, you ONLY need to make your own reservation:

    • for your pre tour nights in Vancouver,
    • for your post tour nights in Banff, and
    • if you choose to “hop off” the bus and spend extra nights in Banff.

If you haven’t booked our Pre-Paid Accommodation Package, you ONLY need to make your own reservation:

    • for your pre tour nights in Vancouver,
    • for your post tour nights in Banff,
    • if you would like to upgrade to a private room,
    • if you choose to stay in a different hostel/hotel, and/or
    • if you choose to “hop off” the bus and spend extra nights in Banff.

NOTE: there is no alternative accommodation anywhere near HI Rampart Creek, therefore please DO NOT make your own reservation for this night (or it’ll be a long walk to rejoin the group!)

Please advise us if you book your own accommodation on any standard night of the tour, so that we can cancel the pre-reserved bed we are holding for you.
Send us an email (include your Moose Confirmation Number):

This Flexi-Pass allows you to "hop off" the Moose bus in our hub destination of Banff, to spend extra time, between travelling on the sectors that make up your full pass. The schedule below shows the start and finish days of the week (by date range) for each sector. Use the schedule to plan your itinerary if you wish to hop on and off in Banff.

You must give us at least 24 hours notice to alter your itinerary, and any changes are subject to the availability of seats on the bus you want to hop back on to. Don't forget that you must also book your extra nights of accommodation yourself if you hop off the bus. Your accommodation package or Moose bed reservations recommence once you hop back on the bus.

We strongly encourage you to plan your itinerary well in advance, particularly during peak season in July and August when buses are full. If you do not plan ahead, your preferred sector departure date may be sold out, and/or you may not be able to find accommodation for your extra nights in Banff.

Note: You cannot hop off the bus in the overnight destinations en route.

    1. Bring proper clothing for the tour. The weather in Canada can be unpredictable, and changes in temperature can occur throughout the day depending on location (this is especially true in the mountains or during the spring and fall months elsewhere). Find out what else to bring on our FAQ page.
    2. If possible bring a credit card with you while traveling. Credit cards can be used as identification and for making deposits on rentals if needed.
    3. Don't forget your camera - we will guarantee that you will want to take photos of new friends, beautiful scenery and wild animals!
    4. Book your pre and post departure accommodation in advance. Moose tours pick up and drop off at major hostels in Vancouver and Banff. Not sure where to stay? Contact our office for recommendations.
    5. Join our Facebook travel community and hook up with you future bus mates. If you have any questions we can surely answer them there. Possibly peruse some of the pics of passengers past!
