  • Explore Western Canada's wilderness stopping at stunning viewpoints along the way, and for hiking and swimming
  • Tour through Pacific Rim, Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks
  • Visit Rocky Mountain landmarks such as Lake Louise, Athabasca Glacier, and Moraine Lake (seasonal)
  • See majestic waterfalls including 335m Shannon Falls, Athabasca Falls, and 381m Takakkaw Falls (seasonal)
  • Go whale watching, mountain biking, zip lining, whitewater rafting & more (optional extras)
  • Cruise across Georgia Strait on two scenic ferry rides
  • Enjoy a free day exploring the quaint little fishing village of Tofino
  • Check out the Olympic sites in Whistler village & the historic inner harbour of Victoria
  • Enjoy the cafes, shopping and nightlife in the exciting party towns of Whistler & Banff
  • Our adventure begins this morning with a scenic ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Walk around the ship decks and keep an eye out for seals and orcas! We’ll then head into the lush rainforests of Vancouver Island where you get great views of waterfalls, lakes, and 800-year old giant Douglas-fir trees. Continuing westward, we’ll make our way into Pacific Rim National Park for our first glimpse of the pristine beaches, battered coastlines, and hundreds of islands. Then it’s on to Tofino, a quaint little fishing village on the West Coast, and our home for the next two nights.

  • Meal Inclusions: Dinner
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Tofino - Whalers on the Point
  • Take this free day to do whatever you please! With so many optional activities on offer, such as whale watching, soaking in natural hot springs, sea kayaking, and surfing to choose from, your stay in Tofino will be nothing short of amazing. If you're not seeking adrenaline, simply unplug and find a beach, or go for a hike to relax.

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Tofino - Whalers on the Point
  • We’ll drive back across the island today, stopping in the village of Coombs for a chance to spot the famous goats on the roof of the Old Country Market. From there, we’ll head south along the east coast, passing through Chemainus, with its 39 giant outdoor murals, and Duncan, home of the world’s largest (ice) hockey stick! Our destination for the night is the BC provincial capital, Victoria, named after Queen Victoria of Britain. Check out the bright lights and vibrant scene in the Inner Harbour after sunset!

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations (Tue departures from Vancouver): Ocean Island Inn
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations (Fri departures from Vancouver): HI Victoria
  • Spend your free time during the day exploring the city sights around the Inner Harbour, including the Parliament Buildings, Empress Hotel, and Royal BC Museum. We recommend walking the waterfront boardwalk to Fisherman’s Wharf, and exploring Fan Tan Alley in Chinatown, the oldest Chinatown in Canada. In the afternoon, we’ll take another scenic ferry cruise back to the mainland and Vancouver, to rest up for the next part of our adventure.

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Vancouver - Jericho Beach
  • Our days begins at the Cypress Mountain lookout, where we’ll get a unique view of Vancouver from above. Heading north on the Sea to Sky Highway, enjoy the views of jagged mountain peaks, sparkling glaciers, and peaceful lakes. We’ll make stops en route at not one, but two waterfalls: Shannon Falls (one of the highest in BC!) and Brandywine Falls. Then, arriving in Whistler in the afternoon, there’s time for relaxing, activities, or exploring the village. Enjoy dinner and then rip it up in the bars and nightclubs!

  • Meal Inclusions: Dinner at HI Whistler
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Whistler
  • We don’t leave until the afternoon today, so you’ll have plenty of time to get your thrill on by ziplining, bungee jumping, downhill mountain biking, or hiking on either Whistler or Blackcomb Mountains. If you’re looking to relax, find a spot in one of the beautiful parks. The day is yours to enjoy as you please! After departing Whistler, we’ll make a few more picturesque stops en route before finishing the day back in Vancouver.

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Vancouver - Jericho Beach
  • Leaving the city behind, we’ll head east through the Fraser Valley. At our first stop, we’ll take a short walk in a west coast rainforest to check out Bridal Veil Falls before stopping for lunch in the quaint town of Hope. After crossing through the Coastal Mountains, we arrive in the semi-arid grasslands of the Okanagan where we’ll go for a paddleboard on Skaha Lake in Penticton. Then it’s onto Kelowna on Lake Okanagan, our destination for the night.

  • Activity & Meal Inclusions: Paddleboarding, Dinner
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: Samesun Kelowna
  • We’ll be in two provinces, completely cross three mountain ranges, and travel through four National Parks today as we continue east to Banff. Leaving the Okanagan, we’ll stop en route in Revelstoke, where you’ll have the option to go lake kayaking in beautiful, hand crafted wooden boats. Continuing onwards, we’ll finally enter the Rocky Mountains and cross over the Kicking Horse Pass into Alberta and Banff National Park. Tonight, we’ll settle in the historic town of Banff, in the heart of the mountains.

  • Meal Inclusions: Breakfast at Samesun Kelowna
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Banff
  • Our day begins with visits to the stunning Moraine Lake (seasonal), and one of the world’s most famous lakes, Lake Louise! Then it’s onto the Icefields Parkway, to take in the jagged mountain peaks, glaciers, raging rivers, and more turquoise lakes, all the while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. We’ll make stops to see the Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, our favourite Peyto Lake, and the impressive Mistaya Canyon, before arriving at our rustic, wilderness hostel alongside Rampart Creek. Why not take a dip in the creek, then relax in the wood-burning sauna, before enjoying a campfire under the stars tonight?

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: HI Rampart Creek. This is a rustic, wilderness hostel and there are no alternative accommodation options nearby, but we think you’re going to love this truly Canadian experience!
  • Our journey continues north along the Icefields Parkway, named one of the most scenic drives in the world by National Geographic. Tick another National Park off your list today because we’re entering Jasper NP! Our first stop in the park is at the Columbia Icefield, the largest icefield in the Rocky Mountains at 325 square kilometres. You’ll have the chance to get up close to the Athabasca Glacier, or just enjoy the views from the Discovery Centre. Then it’s on to Maligne Canyon, the deepest canyon in Jasper, for a scenic hike that crosses several bridges with amazing views into the canyon. Afterwards, we’ll roll into the Jasper townsite where you’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening free to explore on your own.

  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: New HI Jasper
  • It’s another day of jaw dropping vistas and scenic hikes as we make our way back south. Our first stop is at Athabasca Falls, one of the most powerful and picturesque waterfalls in the Rockies. We’ll also stop for a photo opportunity at Tangle Falls, and for an energizing hike at Johnston Canyon, before arriving back in Banff. Tonight, enjoy the great nightlife, or relax at the Banff Upper Hot Springs.

  • Meal Inclusions: Dinner at Samesun Banff
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: Samesun Banff
  • Today is a free day and is yours to enjoy as you like in the heart of the Rocky Mountains! Enjoy the sites in the Banff area, hike a local mountain, or for an optional extra cost, go whitewater rafting, canoeing, or mountain biking.

  • Meal Inclusions: Breakfast at Samesun Banff
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: Samesun Banff
  • We leave the Rockies today, but not before stopping at the towering Takakkaw Falls (seasonal), the pristine Emerald Lake and the Natural Bridge. We’ll also make a fun stop at the quirky Log Barn after reaching the Okanagan Valley. This area is known for sandy beaches on crystal clear lakes, and lots of fun in the sun. Relax at the lake, or rock out in Kelowna tonight - it’s a university city with plenty of bars and nightclubs!

  • Meal Inclusions: Breakfast at Samesun Banff
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: Samesun Kelowna
  • Today we cross the beautiful Okanagan Lake and climb over high mountain passes as we make our way to the west coast. We’ll explore the Othello Tunnels, before entering the Fraser Valley, and making a stop for lunch in the town of Hope. Then it’s onto Vancouver and time to say goodbye to your new friends.

  • Meal Inclusions: Breakfast at Samesun Kelowna
  • Moose Accommodation Reservations: None. You will need to make your own reservations for tonight.

We know that a good night’s sleep is important, especially after a busy day of travelling with lots of fun activities. We choose hostels and backpacker properties that offer budget value, as well as great facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere.

As part of our included service, we pre-book your accommodation so all you need to worry about is having fun! We reserve single beds in mixed gender hostel dorm rooms for every passenger, on every night of the tour. By staying in shared rooms you get a chance to meet more people, hang out with other Moose travellers, and pay less than you would booking a private room or hotel.

How To Pay For Your Accommodation

You simply pay for your pre-reserved Moose bed when you arrive at the hostel. Dorm bed prices range from CAD$29 to $75 plus tax. Alternatively, you can purchase our optional Pre-Paid Accommodation Package.

    Pre-Paid Accommodation Package

To make life on your Moose tour as simple as possible, we recommend purchasing our Pre-Paid Accommodation Package. The package covers your accommodation costs for the standard nights of the trip, so you’re already paid up when you check in. This means you’ll be in your room faster, and therefore have more time to enjoy your epic adventure!

Do I Ever Need To Book My Own Accommodation?

If you’ve booked our Pre-Paid Accommodation Package, you ONLY need to make your own reservation:

    • for your pre & post tour nights in Vancouver, and
    • if you choose to “hop off” the bus and spend extra nights in Vancouver or Banff.

If you haven’t booked our Pre-Paid Accommodation Package, you ONLY need to make your own reservation:

    • for your pre & post tour nights in Vancouver,
    • if you would like to upgrade to a private room,
    • if you choose to stay in a different hostel/hotel, and/or
    • if you choose to “hop off” the bus and spend extra nights in Vancouver or Banff.

NOTE: there is no alternative accommodation anywhere near HI Rampart Creek, therefore please DO NOT make your own reservation for this night (or it’ll be a long walk to rejoin the group!)

    BOOKING YOUR OWN ACCOMMODATION ANYWHERE?
Please advise us if you book your own accommodation on any standard night of the tour, so that we can cancel the pre-reserved bed we are holding for you.
Send us an email (include your Moose Confirmation Number): info@moosebus.travel

    1. Bring proper clothing for the tour. The weather in Canada is predictable, but changes in temperature can occur throughout the day depending on location (this is especially true in the mountains or during the spring and fall months elsewhere). Find out what else to bring on our FAQ page.
    2. If possible bring a credit card with you while traveling. Credit cards can be used as identification and for making deposits on rentals if needed.
    3. Don't forget your camera - we will guarantee that you will want to take photos of new friends, beautiful scenery and wild animals!
    4. Book your pre-departure accommodation in advance. Moose tours pick up at major hostels in Vancouver. Not sure where to stay? Contact our office for recommendations.
    5. If you have any other questions please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page or contact our office.
