Heading West? The Chinook Pass travels from Banff to Vancouver through the diverse and stunning landscapes of British Columbia. Explore Western Canada from the tall peaks of the Canadian Rockies, through the vast desert lowlands in the Okanagan and finish by the lush coastal rainforests in Vancouver. The bus stops between overnight destinations for sightseeing and activities such as hiking, swimming and vista points.

2 days | Departing Banff


  • Relax at the beach on Lake Okanagan in Kelowna
  • Visit Takakkaw Falls, at 384 m, it's one of the highest in Canada (seasonal)
  • Stop along the way for hiking, swimming and exploring
  • Fresh and local ice cream at the D. Dutchman Dairy Farm

We leave the Rockies today with stops at Takakkaw Falls (seasonal), Giant Cedars Boardwalk and the quirky Log Barn. The Okanagan Valley is known for sandy beaches on crystal clear lakes, and lots of fun in the sun. Relax at the lake, or rock out in Kelowna tonight - it’s a university city with plenty of bars and nightclubs! Breakfast included at the Samesun Banff

  • Reservations for tonight’s accommodation are made at the Samesun Kelowna
  • Today we cross the beautiful Okanagan Lake and climb over high mountain passes before entering the Fraser Valley, and making a stop in the town of Hope. Then it’s back to Vancouver and time to say goodbye to your new friends. Breakfast included at Samesun Kelowna

    The Chinnook Pass has some fun activities while on tour from Banff to Vancouver! Go hiking and swimming along the way or try paddleboarding in Kelowna on Lake Okanagan. There are various activities available in Banff or Vancouver - check our full activity list for details.

    Moose books your accommodation for each night of the tour so all you need to worry about is having fun! We always choose top rated hostels with high quality accommodation and a fun atmosphere. Moose reserves a single bed per passenger in shared hostel dorm rooms. You simply pay for your bed when you arrive at the hostel or you can purchase the optional Accommodation Package.

    You must make your own reservation if a) you would like to upgrade to a private room, b) you choose to stay in a different hostel/hotel, and always c) for the final night of the tour in Vancouver.

    1. Bring proper clothing for the tour. The weather in Canada is predictable, but changes in temperature can occur throughout the day depending on location (this is especially true in the mountains or during the spring and fall months elsewhere). Find out what else to bring on our FAQ page.
    2. If possible bring a credit card with you while traveling. Credit cards can be used as identification and for making deposits on rentals if needed.
    3. Don't forget your camera - we will guarantee that you will want to take photos of new friends, beautiful scenery and wild animals!
    4. Book your pre-departure accommodation in advance. Moose tours pick up at major hostels in Vancouver. Not sure where to stay? Contact our office for recommendations.
