Jasper

Jasper National Park’s breathtaking landscapes tell stories from ice-ages to explorers.

En route to Jasper is the Columbia Icefield which is home to the Athabasca Glacier – the largest accumulation of ice & snow south of the Arctic Circle.  Get up close and personal with a glacier of epic proportions by taking the Ice Explorer to walk on the surface. Towering to an icy 360 meters, the Athabasca giant will leave a breathtaking impression of the towering beauty of this pre-historic Canadian landscape

An optional add on activity: the Ice Explorer run by our friends at the Colombia Icefield will guide you onto the surface of the amazing Athabasca Glacier!

TIP: Although the sun can be warm in summer, the glacier’s surface is ice cold. Remember to pack accordingly. We recommend having a few extra layers handy while on tour so it’s easy to rug up when needed but also ready to strip down ready to jump in the next crystal blue lake.

Jasper National Park boasts some of the most beautiful lakes in Canada. Watching peoples’ reactions to seeing Peyto Lake for the first time is awesome! Take the short hike to the Peyto Lake viewpoint and you’ll see what all the fuss is about. The amazing blue-green colour is due to the light reflecting properties of the glacial flour that flows into the lake from the Peyto glacier.
